Accessible Prenatal Yoga Training: Module 1

Hong Kong Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training with Hersha Yoga -- a Registered School of Yoga Teacher Training

Hersha Yoga's Accessible Prenatal Yoga Training is inspired by Sri Swami Satchidananda's system of Integral Yoga but based on Hersha's personal experiences with pregnancy and childbirth both in Spain and in Hong Kong.

Module 1 is exactly what it says on the title -- Accessible, which means you do not need to have any Yoga background to participate. It is for all pregnant women who want to learn more about their bodies and how to create an individualised prenatal yoga program that suits their bodies, trimesters and preferences. Modules 2 & 3 plus the exam day, means that you can continue your study to become a fully certified Prenatal Yoga instructor. The full curriculum is as follows:

  • Understanding the different approach to yoga for prenatal students and the special role the prenatal yoga instructor plays
  • Complete instruction in how to sequence a prenatal yoga class and adapt asanas for higher risk pregnancies or special cases
  • Principles of joint stability vs. flexibility
  • Anatomy & Physiology for pregnancy and childbirth
  • Comprehensive introduction to Raja Yoga and meditation for expecting mothers
  • How to conduct a labour and delivery workshop for expecting mothers and their birthing partners.
